Talk with kids about things that matter

Take time to chat with children about what's going on in the world, their countries, and their communities. Discuss how the issues in the news relate to them (e.g., elections, global warming, civil/human rights, health care, war). Have a conversation about favorite books or art or music. Listen to their views and questions and share your own. Show them how to find accurate, reliable information.
